cat_id: BIGINT NULL (FK)

index CAT_ID_IDX (cat_id)

id: BIGINT (PK)
name: VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL

index NAME_IDX (name)

在一些示例数据中:

我不明白为什么查询计划正在进行顺序扫描。我认为优化器足够聪明,可以使用animal索引扫描name表一次,甚至两次,然后根据这个结果加入到所有者表中,但最后我得出了一个非常意外的查询计划。

我采用了一个更简单的案例,我们只想查找狗的名字,查询的行为与我期望的一样:

left join需要将所有行保留在第一个表中。因此,它通常会扫描该表,甚至where条件在这些条件下过滤其他表。

Postgres制作的查询计划并不令人惊讶。
