我制作了一个程序,使用分而治之算法计算数组的最大值,但输出为0。

你在这段代码中有一个错字

for(index1 = 0; index1 < index2; index1++)

index1将增加到index2,然后

maximum(index1, index2, max_number);

将在第1 /第2个参数中传递相同的值,您可以像下面那样更改代码

在任何情况下,函数都太复杂,并且使用全局变量,这是编程的一种不好的做法。
