#But is that actually doing what I think it's doing?!
#And if so, how can experiment using other colour palettes?

#But the real question is: HOW DO I DO COLOUR PLOTS USING gggplot?
ggplot(kk, aes(x=long, y=lat,group=group)) #+ ????
